The Inselblume 42 is a 53-square-metre holiday apartment on the 1st floor of the Strandburg, with space for up to 4 people. With sea views, an east-facing balcony and two bedrooms, it is ideal for families and friends who want to stay just a few steps from the Südstrand beach. Your dog is welcome to come along. Location of the holiday apartment in the Strandburg at the Südstrand
The Inselblume 42 is located in the Strandburg, right by the Südstrand beach in Burgtiefe. The fine sandy beach is only around 230 metres away. In the morning you tuck your towel under your arm, and a few minutes later your feet are in the sand.
The Südstrand slopes gently into the water and is partly supervised by DLRG lifeguards, which makes it ideal for families with children. With your dog, you head to the dog beach at the Südstrand, where your four-legged friend can run and swim to its heart's content.
Fresh rolls for breakfast are available from the bakery on the ground floor of the Strandburg, where you will also find a kiosk. Along the promenade, cafés, restaurants and beach bars invite you to end the day with a cool drink. If you feel like being active, the Charchulla water sports school with surfing, kiting and SUP courses and a boat rental are nearby. For a barbecue evening, public barbecue areas are available at the marina.
Burgstaaken, where the fishing boats sell freshly caught fish, is 1.5 km away, and the town centre of Burg 3.5 km. On rainy days, the FehMare leisure pool with its seawater wave pool is close by. You will find ideas for trips across the whole island among our sights on Fehmarn.

The lift takes you and your luggage comfortably up to the 1st floor. In the cosy living room with its seating area and dining corner, your eyes are drawn outside straight away, because from here you can see the sea. This is the moment you notice that everyday life is far behind you.

The balcony faces east and belongs entirely to the sun in the morning. This is where you drink your first coffee while the island slowly wakes up. The view stretches largely unobstructed to the north and to the south, where the Baltic Sea sparkles in the sunlight.
After a day by the sea, you prepare dinner in the kitchen at your leisure, perhaps with fresh fish from Burgstaaken. Afterwards everyone gathers around the dining table to plan the next outing or to play a round of board games.
There are two bedrooms for a good night's sleep, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds, which children usually claim for themselves straight away. With the window open, you hear the sound of the Baltic Sea at night and wake up to the morning sun. In the shower room you rinse off sand and salt before the next day by the sea begins.
For the little ones, a travel cot and a high chair are available. Parking is free of charge in the public car park in front of the Strandburg. We will provide you with the parking ticket.

Two separate bedrooms, sea views and a balcony with morning sun, all just around 230 metres from the beach: the Inselblume 42 brings together everything families look for at the Südstrand. Parents have their own retreat, while the children dream of sandcastles in the bunk beds next door. At the end of the holiday, everyone heads home with salt on their skin and fresh energy.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can we check in, and when do we have to check out?
You can check in between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at our administrative office located at Industriestr. 6 in Burg on Fehmarn. You may move into your accommodation immediately afterward. Unfortunately, early check-in is not possible.
Check-out must be completed by 10:00 a.m. Please either return the key in person to our office in Burg or drop it into the designated key drop box at the office.
Can we check in contactlessly or arrive late?
Yes, contactless check-ins are available. Please let us know your preference by email or phone at least one week before your arrival.
If you plan to arrive after 6:00 p.m., please call us in advance at 04371 86 42 01 We will then set up a key safe for you. You will find the code on your booking confirmation.
What is included in the rent?
The prices listed on our website already include final cleaning, electricity, water, and the service fee. There are no hidden additional costs.
Bedding and towels are not included, unless explicitly stated in the amenities, but can be added to your booking.
No security deposit is required.
The visitor’s tax must be paid separately as a local tax. You can find more information on this under the heading “Do we have to pay visitor’s tax, and what is the Ostseecard?”
Can we reserve bed linens and towels?
Bed linens and towels are not included in the rental price. You can add these when booking or at check-in: Bed linens cost 20 euros per set, towels 10 euros per set, and a combo set of bed linens and towels 30 euros per set.
Do we have to pay a visitor's tax, and what is the Ostseecard?
Yes, all tourists aged 18 and older are required to pay the visitor’s tax. During the off-season, it is 1.50 euros per person per day; during the high season (May 15 to September 14), it is 2.30 euros per person per day.
You will receive the Ostseecard as proof of eligibility. You can pick up a physical card at check-in or download a digital Ostseecard to your smartphone before your arrival, as soon as we have received all the necessary information from you.
Is there Wi-Fi at the accommodation?
Wi-Fi is not available in all accommodations. Please check the amenities list on the respective property page to see if your chosen accommodation has Wi-Fi.
Is there a parking lot?
Parking is available at most accommodations. Please note that we cannot guarantee a designated parking space at all accommodations. For accommodations at the Strandburg, for example, you will receive a parking pass that allows you to park for free in the public parking lot in front of the building.
Are pets allowed?

What is the best way to get to Fehmarn?
Fehmarn is connected to the mainland via the Fehmarnsundbrücke and is easily accessible by car. Please note that the train service between Lübeck and Puttgarden has been suspended due to the planned Fehmarn Belt crossing. Instead, “X85 Fehmarn” rail replacement buses run hourly from Lübeck Central Station. Please check with the Travel information from Deutsche Bahn.
What's the best way to get from point A to point B on the island?
In addition to your own car or bicycle, the Ostseecard allows you to use the community bus for free. Furthermore, since August 2025, you can use public bus transportation free of charge within the Fehmarn-Burg fare zone. This applies to both tourists and locals and covers Burg, Burgtiefe, Neue Tiefe, Landkirchen, Wulfen, and other districts. Dogs and bicycles may be brought along free of charge, subject to availability.
