Yoga and Pilates on Fehmarn: An Overview of All Classes

Fehmarn has a surprisingly diverse yoga and Pilates scene. Several instructors on the island teach a variety of styles, ranging from dynamic Vinyasa to gentle Yin Yoga and classic Pilates. Whether in a studio, on a farm, or right on the beach, you’ll find classes year-round that suit your experience level and preferences. There are also special classes for families with children. On this page, we’ve compiled a list of all providers and options for you.

What types of yoga can you find on Fehmarn?

Not all yoga styles are the same, and on Fehmarn you actually have a choice. So you know what to expect, here’s a brief overview of a few of the styles offered there.

  • Hatha Yoga is the classic style: calm, held poses with a focus on posture, breathing, and relaxation. Well-suited for beginners.
  • Vinyasa Yoga is more dynamic and combines poses into flowing sequences that can really get you sweating.
  • Yin Yoga takes a different approach: Here, you hold passive stretches for several minutes to target the fascia and deep connective tissue.
  • Restorative Yoga focuses on complete relaxation using props such as blankets and cushions, and is especially suitable if you just want to unwind.

Pilates differs from yoga in its focus on targeted muscle building, core stability, and posture. The exercises are controlled and precise. On Fehmarn, Pilates is often offered as a complement to yoga.
